Hogan Lovells encourages acting SARS commissioner, Mark Kingon, to release report

International law firm Hogan Lovells has stated that it still welcomes the release of its report into the labour matters in relation to Jonas Makwakwa and encourages new acting SARS commissioner, Mark Kingon, to make its report public.

The firm was due to answer questions today by members of the Standing Committee on Finance.

Hogan Lovells’ South Africa Chairman, Lavery Modise, made the following comments:

“I was looking forward to answering questions today by members of the Standing Committee on Finance. I fully encourage Mark Kingon to release our report which I believe is the missing piece of the puzzle that I hope emphatically and finally puts an end to any further speculation about Hogan Lovells' role and involvement in the Makwakwa Disciplinary Inquiry."

The SARS enquiry with the Standing committee on finance has been postponed indefinitely.
