Hogan Lovells Creates Combined Diversity and Inclusion Committee to Drive Global Diversity Plan

7 August 2015 - Hogan Lovells announced today that it has reconfigured the existing Global Diversity and Board Diversity Committees to create a combined Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

With the full backing of the International Management Committee (IMC) and Board, the new Committee will be responsible for developing diversity strategy, and ensuring implementation of that strategy through the firm's refreshed Global Diversity Plan for the period 2015-18.

The key objectives of the Committee and Plan are to build upon the work already underway in order further to:

  • Embed a culture of inclusion and engage all members globally in the firm's diversity agenda
  • Build a diverse talent pipeline through retaining and advancing talent
  • Attract, recruit, and develop diverse talent
  • Engage clients and external stakeholders on mutually beneficial diversity initiatives
  • Monitor progress against diversity objectives

The firm's Chair, Nicholas Cheffings, and its Deputy CEO, David Hudd, will both be members of the Committee, which will be chaired by London-based partner Ruth Grant, previously co-chair of the Global Diversity Committee, and a member of the Board. She will be supported by representatives from the Board, IMC, regions, practices and sectors. The other members of the new Committee are:

  • Ari Fitzgerald, partner, Government Regulatory - Communications, Washington D.C.
  • Burkhart Goebel, Regional Managing Partner - Continental Europe, IPMT, Madrid
  • Dan González, Board member and partner, Head of International Arbitration, Miami
  • Sharon Lewis, IMC member, partner and Global Head of Finance, IDCM, London and Paris
  • Phyllis Wan, U.S. Chief Diversity Officer and partner, Corporate - Commercial, Denver
  • Marcy Wilder, partner and Co-Head of Privacy and Information Management, Washington D.C.
  • Kay Willis, Global Chief People Officer, London
  • David Winter, partner and Co-Head of Investment Funds, Washington D.C.
