Hogan Lovells continues to expand its Tokyo practice with hire of experienced U.S.-qualified litigation counsel

Tokyo, Japan, 5 February 2020 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Seiji Niwa has joined the firm’s Tokyo office as counsel in its Litigation, Arbitration and Employment practice.

"Seiji is a welcome addition to the firm as we continue to add to our Tokyo practice as well as strengthen our global Litigation, Arbitration and Employment practice," said Lloyd Parker, Office Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells' Tokyo office.

With fifteen years of litigation experience spanning Japan and the United States, Seiji's practice concentrates on complex commercial litigation and antitrust. He has represented Japanese and international clients in a variety of industries including retail, financial services, pharmaceutical and display technologies. Seiji has experience across a range of complex litigation and investigation matters, including in both civil and criminal cases. He served as a judicial law clerk for a district court judge in the Eastern District of New York.

Seiji's broad practice will complement the Tokyo office's existing litigation and arbitration practice led by partner Hiroto Imai, a Japan-qualified lawyer (bengoshi) with extensive experience in corporate and commercial disputes and litigation, including patent litigation. Hiroto's team handles a variety of claims / disputes across multiple industries and Seiji's arrival will significantly expand the Tokyo office's existing offering.
