LONDON, 5 September 2013 - Hogan Lovells has announced today that Gérard Neiens will join its new Luxembourg office as a tax partner. Gérard joins the firm from Allen & Overy Luxembourg.
Hogan Lovells opened in Luxembourg on 1 August as part of its plans to grow its funds and tax practices and expand its capabilities in the corporate, real estate and private equity sectors.
Gérard joins partners Pierre Reuter (investment funds), Jean-Michel Schmit (corporate), and four associates who opened the office last month.
Commenting on the hire of Gérard, David Harris, global co-CEO of Hogan Lovells, said:
"Having an experienced and high-profile tax lawyer on the ground is fundamental to the development of our office in Luxembourg, which is an increasingly important jurisdiction for investment funds and tax. Gérard's arrival was planned to complement that of Pierre and Jean-Michel and enhances our client offering in the investment funds arena across a number of industries".
Gérard Neiens said:
"Hogan Lovells boasts a highly regarded global tax practice which, combined with the investment funds expertise already established in Luxembourg, will provide an excellent full-service offering to clients. I am looking forward to working with the team in Luxembourg and globally".
