Hogan Lovells Builds London Construction & Engineering Practice With Disputes Partner Hire

Hogan Lovells is strengthening its Construction & Engineering practice in London with the hire of Angus Rankin as partner.

Angus began his legal career at Hogan Lovells, qualifying into the International Arbitration and Construction & Engineering disputes practice, where he worked until 2010. He joins Hogan Lovells from Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe Limited (MHPSE), where he led the legal function covering all aspects of corporate legal activity, and also taking on the role of Company Secretary and advisor to its board of directors.

Michael Davison, Head of Litigation, Arbitration and Employment, said:

"Having worked with Angus over several years as both our colleague and client, I am delighted to welcome him back into our firm. His previous experience of some of our major disputes matters will be invaluable, and he will boost our offering to clients in the power sector, and our offering to our Japanese clients."

Angus Rankin said:

"I'm delighted to be returning to Hogan Lovells, where my legal career began, bringing with me in-house counsel experience from one of the world's leading heavy engineering contractors, and a power generation industry experiencing huge and rapid change. The firm's Construction & Engineering and International Arbitration practices are first-rate. I'm looking forward to being part of the Hogan Lovells team again and working with an outstanding group of colleagues around the world."

Angus has broad experience of contentious and non-contentious infrastructure matters across fossil power, nuclear power, transportation, chemical plant and other projects.
