Hogan Lovells boosts sports practice with key corporate hire

Washington D.C./New York, 15 March 2021 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the hire of Steve Argeris as counsel to its Corporate & Finance practice, boosting in particular its M&A offering and industry expertise in the sports sector.

Based in both New York and Washington D.C., Steve Argeris most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel at Tepper Sports & Entertainment (a.k.a. Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC) in Charlotte, North Carolina where he worked from 2015 to 2020.  Earlier in his career, he was a sportswriter for several newspapers, including the Washington Post.

His experience spans from government affairs, risk management, strategic communications, crisis management, stadium and facility development and sponsorships.

His appointment builds on a series of hires to the M&A and Private Equity groups in London [Ed Harris and Leanne Moezi], US [Adam Brown], Shanghai [Don Williams, Tony Mou and Cheng Xu], Frankfurt [Nikolai Sokolov] and more recently in Paris [Matthieu Grollemund and Hélène Parent] as well as the addition of leading New York Capital Markets partner, Richard Aftanas.
