Led by its Frankfurt-based partners Alexander Stefan Rieger and Jörg Herwig, international law firm Hogan Lovells advised EVN AG on the acquisition of a package of shares in European Energy Exchange AG (EEX).

EVN AG is a leading international energy supply company based in Austria. The parties involved have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction has already been completed.

Leipzig-based EEX AG – also known as the "Leipzig Power Exchange" – is Europe’s largest energy trading platform. In addition to EVN AG, EEX AG’s shareholders include in particular Deutsche Börse AG and numerous other leading energy suppliers.
