Hogan Lovells Appoints new Global Co-Head of Private Equity
20 December 2013
LONDON, 20 December 2013 - Hogan Lovells has appointed London partner Tom Whelan to serve as global Co-Head of private equity from 1 January 2014 alongside continuing Co-Head Jeffrey Hurlburt.
Tom will take the reins from Alan Greenough, who is retiring as a partner next year. He has been a partner at Hogan Lovells since 2006 and specialises in private equity, M&A, joint ventures and restructurings.
Commenting on Tom's appointment, Andrew Skipper, Global Co-Head of Hogan Lovells' corporate practice, said:
"Alan has done a fantastic job in developing our global private equity practice since the combination in 2010. We are delighted that Tom will be taking on the role of Co-Head of private equity and working with Jeff to build on the relationships and successes that Alan has established."
Tom Whelan added:
"Alan has been instrumental in developing our highly regarded and successful private equity practice, both in London and globally, and our relationships with some of the firm's key clients. We have a genuinely global private equity capability few competitors can match, with critical mass in the UK, Continental Europe, U.S., Middle East, Asia and an established presence in Latin America, and I am looking forward to working with Jeff to develop this further."
