Denver, 1 December 2021 —  Global law firm Hogan Lovells has appointed Corporate & Finance partner Timothy R. Aragon to the role of Office Managing Partner for the firm’s Denver office. He replaces Cole Finegan, who  was nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the United States Attorney for the District of Colorado.

Aragon has a wealth of experience in corporate transactions, serves as head of the Colorado Corporate & Finance practice, and is part of the firm’s leadership team for the Americas. He joined Hogan Lovells in 2004. An active member of the community, Aragon is on the board of directors of the Colorado Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Civic Ventures Board.

“Tim’s experience and leadership skills have helped drive forward the strategic vision of the Americas region and the Corporate & Finance practice, and he is well-positioned to take on this additional role,” said Richard Lorenzo, Regional Managing Partner for the Americas.

Finegan is expected to be sworn in as the new U.S. Attorney in the immediate future. He joined Hogan Lovells in 2007, and served as Office Managing Partner of the Denver office for 14 years. Prior to joining the firm, he served four years as Chief of Staff to John Hickenlooper when he was Mayor of Denver, and in the City’s Attorney’s office. Previously, Finegan served as Chief Legal Counsel and Director of Policy and Initiatives for Colorado Governor Roy Romer from 1991 to 1993. He also served as Chief Legislative Assistant and then Chief of Staff to U.S. Rep. James R. Jones of Oklahoma, who was Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives' Budget Committee from 1981-1985.

Finegan has played a major role in almost every public-private partnership in Denver in the last three decades, including the redevelopment of Stapleton Airport, the Gates Rubber Company facility, and Denver Union Station. He has served in a number of key leadership roles at Hogan Lovells, including as Co-Regional Managing Partner for the Americas from 2014-2020.

“We wish Cole great success in his new role as U.S. Attorney,” said Lorenzo. “Cole has been a mentor to many lawyers and firm leaders, and we thank him for the passion he has displayed to clients, the firm, and our people. He will be missed.”

In addition to the appointment of Aragon, the firm has announced that Ana Tenzer will assume the role of Administrative Partner for the Denver office on 1 January 2022, taking over for Niki Tuttle. Ana is a partner in the Corporate & Finance practice and has deep experience in commercial real estate and corporate lending.

Aragon said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with Cole, and I join Richard in thanking him for all he has done for the firm and the Denver office. Working with Ana, I am confident we will continue to build on our success here in Denver.”
