Hogan Lovells Advises Telecity on €100 Million Data Electronics Acquisition

LONDON, 8 August 2011 - Hogan Lovells has advised TelecityGroup (Telecity) on the acquisition of Data Electronics Group Limited (Data Electronics) for £87.6 million in cash in a deal announced today, Monday 8 August.

Telecity is Europe's industry-leading provider of carrier-neutral data centres and Data Electronics is the leading provider of these in Ireland, operating two high quality carrier-neutral data centres in Dublin which are key international internet hubs offering access to over 40 carrier networks and access to the Dublin internet exchange (INEX).

The Hogan Lovells team advising Telecity was led by London corporate partner Guy Potel, assisted by senior associate Richard Diffenthal.

Commenting on the deal, Guy said:

This deal announcement comes less than a week after the announcement of the bid by UK Water (2011) Limited to acquire Northumbrian Water Group for £4.7 billion in the largest UK takeover of 2011, where Steven Bryan and Guy Potel advised the target.
