Hogan Lovells advises PerkinElmer, Inc. on the acquisition of EUROIMMUN Medizinische Labordiagnostika AG

Led by Munich partner and head of the German Corporate practice Lutz Angerer, Hogan Lovells has advised listed U.S. company PerkinElmer, Inc. on the acquisition of EUROIMMUN Medizinische Labordiagnostika AG for a consideration of EUR 1.2 billion by way of a share deal.

The acquisition grows PerkinElmer's Diagnostics business into a US$1 billion franchise. It allows PerkinElmer to enter the autoimmune and allergy diagnostic markets, while offering new infectious disease capabilities to customers in China. In addition, as a market leader in the U.S. for reproductive health, PerkinElmer will now be able to cross-sell its newly acquired autoimmune, allergy and infectious disease screening solutions within an established channel. 

Lutz Angerer has advised PerkinElmer since 2004 on various M&A transactions, among others on the acquisition of chemagen Biopolymer-Technologie AG, Evotec Technologies GmbH and Elcos AG as well as on the disposal of its Medical Imaging Business on 1 May 2017.
