23 June 2010

LONDON - 23 JUNE 2010 Hogan Lovells real estate practice has continued its relationship with News International by advising on the consolidation of its requirements at Thomas More Square in London, E1.

News International have taken a further 55,000 square ft at 2 Thomas More Square, together with the top floor at 3 Thomas More Square, from Land Securities and Cadillac Fairview Corporation. This is in addition to the 192,000 square feet taken by News International at 3 Thomas More Square in June 2009, one of the largest lettings that year, advised by legacy Lovells.

News International will occupy the ground, first, fourth and fifth floors of 2 Thomas More Square. The 10 year lease is being granted on the basis of an initial nine month rent-free period.

Simultaneously, News International have also taken the top floor at 3 Thomas More Square on a nine year lease.

Thomas More Square is a business village adjacent to St Katharine Dock on the edge of the Square Mile and next to News International's historic Wapping site.

The Hogan Lovells team comprised Dion Panambalana, Partner, Graham Cutts and Vanessa Medina.

Dion Panambalana said:

"We are delighted to have advised News International in consolidating their requirements at Thomas More Square. The letting is more evidence that tenant demand is returning in or around central London, albeit fitfully."
