Hogan Lovells advises InfraVia European Fund II and Egis Investment Partners on the sale of shares in German A8 Motorway PPP Project

Press releases | 09 January 2020

Led by partners Christian Knütel (Hamburg) and Alexander Stefan Rieger (Frankfurt), international law firm Hogan Lovells advised InfraVia European Fund II and Egis Investment Partners on the sale of shares in Autobahnplus A8 GmbH, being the concessionaire for the German A8 motorway PPP project. The buyer is a core equity infrastructure fund managed by Schroder Aida.

The A8 motorway project between Munich and Augsburg is a PPP pilot scheme and was the first ever German motorway PPP project to reach financial close back in 2007. It includes the right for the concessionaire to expand, operate and maintain the motorway for a total concession length of 52km and a concession period of 30 years.

Hogan Lovells acted initially as legal counsel to the successful consortium and now advised InfraVia European Fund II and Egis Investment Partners on all legal aspects of the sale of their stakes.

The closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of the German Antitrust Authority and of the Highway Authority of Bavaria.
