Hogan Lovells advises Howden Group on the acquisition of Grupo Artai

The Insurance and Reinsurance team at Hogan Lovells Madrid has advised international broker Howden Group on the acquisition of 100% of the capital of Grupo Artai, one of the largest insurance brokers in Spain. The Galician broker Artai is specialized in advising companies in the textile, maritime-fishing, logistics and fleet sectors, as well as in risk management of major accounts.

Following the acquisition, which is pending approval by the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds, the broker [belonging to the Group of the same name], will broker more than 350 million euros in premiums, and will have more than 600 employees. It will also have more than 30 offices in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

The Hogan Lovells advisory team has been led by Felipe Vázquez, Guillermo Ruiz and Boris Urquizu from Insurance, Gonzalo F.
