Hogan Lovells advises Hamburg Commercial Bank on the financing of Irish wind farm Clogheravaddy

Press releases | 12 October 2021

International law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to have advised Hamburg Commercial Bank AG on the second phase of the project financing of Irish wind farm Clogheravaddy.

After having successfully advised on the initial phase of the financing in 2018, Hogan Lovells also carried out the role of lender’s legal adviser for the second phase of the financing of the Clogheravaddy wind farm located in County Donegal, Ireland. The wind farm is being further developed by Wiesbaden-based ABO Wind AG, a developer of wind and solar farms as well as battery and hydrogen projects worldwide. The second phase of the financing shall fund the expansion of the wind farm, with the additional turbines doubling the existing capacity.

Hogan Lovells advised on all aspects of the financing, which took a bespoke form due to the ongoing phase 1 financing. Hogan Lovells worked together with a team from Irish law firm Matheson, which advised on all local law aspects.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Dr. Carla Luh (Partner and Head of Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects (IERP) Germany) and included Amy Bruland (Associate), Marco Weibrecht (Senior Associate) and Anne Gahleitner (Business Lawyer), all members of the German IERP Finance team.
