Hogan Lovells advises Beaumont Health on acquisition of Summa Health

Washington, 13 January 2020 – International law firm Hogan Lovells is advising Metro Detroit-based regional health system Beaumont Health in its acquisition of Akron, Ohio-based health system Summa Health.

A definitive agreement was signed in late December 2019 to integrate Summa Health into the Beaumont Health organization. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2020 after approval from state and federal regulatory agencies.

Beaumont Health brings in US$4.7 billion in annual net patient revenue, making it the largest health system in Michigan. The newly combined organization will have US$6.1 billion in total revenue, 45,000 employees and more than 6,000 affiliated physicians.
