Hogan Lovells Acts as Transaction Counsel for Airbus and EADS in U.S. Acquisition

NORTHERN VIRGINIA, 03 August 2011 – Hogan Lovells announced today that it acted as transaction counsel representing Airbus and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) in acquiring U.S.-based Metron Aviation, a leading provider of advanced Air Traffic Management (ATM) products and services for the global aviation industry. This acquisition strengthens Airbus’ strategy to accelerate and support ATM programs that will dramatically improve global air transportation capacity, efficiency and environmental sustainability. Metron Aviation will support the Airbus strategy to help countries improve their ATM.
The Hogan Lovells team advising Airbus and EADS on this acquisition was led by corporate partner J. Brent Singley (Northern Virginia), with critical support from Washington, D.C.-based partners Jeanne Archibald and Stephen Propst (International Trade), Todd Overman (Government procurement), Celine Crowson (IP) and Bill Neff (Employee Benefits). The Hogan Lovells team included associates William Yavinsky, Brian Curran, Dan Greenspahn, Christine Burke, Joe Reppetto and Ashley Hedge.
The transaction was announced on 26July 2011 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals. The acquisition is expected to be completed later in 2011. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
