Breaking Barriers raises over US$10,000 at annual cocktail party in support of The Women's Foundation
17 June 2014
Breaking Barriers hosted its sixth annual cocktail party on 27 May 2014 raising over US$10,000 in support of The Women's Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of women in Hong Kong through research, community programmes, education, media engagement and advocacy. Funds raised will support the production of a documentary by The Women's Foundation titled She Objects which will examine the scale and impact of gender stereotypes in the media in Hong Kong.
The cocktail party featured a lucky draw with over 100 items from our generous donors (many of them firm clients) including luxury fashion apparel, fine wine, restaurant vouchers, personal training sessions, and even an all-inclusive trip to Hua Hin, Thailand. There were also tote bags designed by Tory Burch in collaboration with The Women's Foundation available for sale, with all proceeds going to The Women's Foundation. 80 clients and 40 members of Hogan Lovells attended the event.
The evening was also attended by Su-Mei Thompson, CEO of The Woman's Foundation; Dr York Chow; Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission; and Crystal Kwok, director of She Objects who presented a brief trailer of the documentary (which can be found here).
