Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel Presents Jay Dougherty with a “Counsel of the Year” Award

Los Angeles, 10 January 2014 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Counsel Jay Dougherty was named a "Counsel of the Year" by the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC), whose members represent leading in-house counsel in the media and entertainment industry. The award was presented at AMEC’s ninth Counsel of the Year Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, 10 January.

Dougherty was recognized for "social service,” specifically his work in developing Loyola Law School's Entertainment & Media Law Institute and Concentration program, which has been recognized as one of the top ten such programs in the country.

Dougherty is a Professor of Law at Loyola Law School and also serves as Director of its Entertainment/Media Law Institute & Concentration Program. At Hogan Lovells his practice focuses on all types of entertainment industry transactions, including for development, acquisitions, finance, and production of motion pictures, television programs, and new technologies. Dougherty also has extensive experience in licensing and distribution arrangements, and counsels clients on copyright matters and media clearances.
