3Q M&A Rankings
22 October 2010
Hogan Lovells' M&A practice has ranked competitively for its performance in the third quarter of the year.
The firm has moved up three places to 10th worldwide in the Thomson Reuters Legal Advisory Review based on the total number of completed M&A deals.
Figures from Thomson Reuters suggest the firm's global M&A practice completed 114 deals this year to date, eight more deals than in the same period in 2009. Hogan Lovells has increased its market share in the M&A sector between Jan 1 2010 – Sep 30 2010.
The firm's increased level of activity in the EMEA markets was particularly impressive, with rising activity in almost every European jurisdiction. Notably we moved up nine places to third for the number of deals completed with any French involvement based on rank value.
According to the 3Q Mergermarket figures, Hogan Lovells has also greatly increased its M&A activity in China, with the firm moving up ten places to 13th for the number of deals reported in which we provided legal counsel to businesses based in Greater China.
The combined M&A practice has been capitalizing on the platform the combination created to win work that the legacy firms may not have been considered for. It is encouraging to see this reflected in the latest Thomson Reuters and Mergermarket rankings.
