Jody Newman is an employment lawyer with a deep background in discrimination law and more than 30 years' experience in litigating and investigating bias cases across workplaces and college campuses.

Jody is recognized for her extensive experience litigating discrimination and harassment cases, and employment-related contract and business litigation before state and federal courts and government agency forums. She has conducted jury and non-jury trials and appeals, and is practiced in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaborative law.

A tenacious and passionate advocate for her clients, Jody is also skilled at investigating high-risk claims, with an emphasis on sexual harassment and sexual misconduct cases. She is a Certified Title IX Investigator (ATIXA, July 2015) and has conducted gender-based harassment and assault investigations for local colleges and universities. She is also a Massachusetts certified mediator, and has successfully mediated discrimination and retaliation cases.

Apart from investigations, Jody serves as a trainer for human resources professionals on best practices for conducting effective internal investigations. She provides workplace trainings, having developed and conducted individualized employment law, implicit bias, and sexual harassment programs for state entities and businesses.

Jody began her career more than 35 years ago with Collora LLP, now the Hogan Lovells Boston office, serving as Managing Partner from 2007 to 2012. She is an active member of various nonprofit organizations, devoting significant time to those endeavors.
