Marlene Murphy is a senior associate in the Johannesburg corporate team at Hogan Lovells with experience in advising on mergers and acquisitions and in providing general corporate and commercial advice. 

Marlene is experienced in advising various multinationals on local and cross-border transaction in South Africa and across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

Advising Ganfeng Lithium Company Ltd, on its proposed acquisition of the Bikita Minerals mine, one of the largest lithium mines in Zimbabwe.*

Advising Sirius Real Estate Limited (JSE, LSE: SRE) on the South African aspects of its c.£135m capital raise.*

Advising Hive Energy Limited and Cape Carbon Proprietary Limited on the acquisition of 100% of the issued A Ordinary Shares and 85% of the issued Ordinary Shares in EC Biomass Fuel Pellets Pty Ltd.*

Advising Abengoa on the disposal of the Xina South Africa solar farm to French energy multinational, Engie.*

Advising Siemens Proprietary Limited, and subsequently Siemens Energy Proprietary Limited, on the South African and African aspects of the carve-out of its power and gas business.*
