Chris Montague-Jones is an associate in the London Capital Markets practice, with a particular focus on acting for corporate trustees, agents and other service providers in relation to a broad spectrum of debt products. Chris advises corporate trustees and agents both on new issuances and a wide range of post-issuance work, including on the exercise of trustee discretion, amendments, restructurings and the administration of distressed debt. Chris trained with Hogan Lovells spending six months in the Capital Markets practice in London and a further six months on secondment in the legal team at a large international bank doing capital markets work.

Chris is part of our knowledgeable team of advisers to corporate finance trustees within our International Debt Capital Markets practice. The Hogan Lovells trustee practice has been recognized as a market leader in advising trustees and has advised trustees involved in distressed positions with nominal values in excess of US$60bn since 2007.

Representative experience

Advising the trustee in relation to the issuance of US$300m Notes by Atlas Capital UK 2018, the first catastrophe bond financing under the new UK ILS regime.

Advising the trustee in relation to the issuance of £550m Notes by Bumper UK 2019-1, one of the first STS compliant public automotive securitisations in the UK.

Advising the trustee in relation to the defaulted bonds issued by Euromax III MBS Ltd, including advising with respect to enforcement action by the trustee.
