Mitchell E. Zamoff

Mitch Zamoff handles high-stakes investigations and civil litigation for clients in regulated industries. Clients value the credibility and perspective Mitch brings to the table as the former general counsel of a Fortune 20 company, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, a civil procedure professor, and a successful trial lawyer.

Mitch has been a Litigation Practice Group Director at the firm and Deputy Chair of the Government Investigations Group. He co-leads the firm's highly regarded Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) Practice Group. He's skilled in all aspects of health insurance law, investigations and qui tam, and other litigation involving the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare and Medicaid program compliance, and laws relating to "off-label" promotion. He also has deep knowledge of commercial contract disputes, consumer protection claims under the TCPA and other federal and state laws, payor-provider payment disputes, ERISA claims, and a variety of other class action litigation.

Mitch has been tackling high-impact litigation and investigations for over 20 years from every angle. He was general counsel of UnitedHealth Group – the largest health benefits company in the U.S and was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Philadelphia. He teaches civil procedure at one of the top 20 law schools in the U.S.

Guide to the Leading U.S. Litigation Lawyers recognized Mitch as one of the top trial lawyers in the nation. Corporate Board Member named him one of the "Top 10 GCs to Watch" during his in-house tenure. He was also nominated for Trial Lawyer of the Year for his work on the widely reported Tulia, TX civil rights lawsuits.

Mitch is a member of the board of directors of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and a member of AAA's arbitration and mediation panels. Mitch is also Chairman of the board of directors of the Children's Law Center of Minnesota and Vice Chairman of the board of directors of the Conflict Resolution Center of Minnesota.

Represented an insurance company in a federal investigation, and related litigation, relating to alleged deceptive sales and marketing practices.

Represented a pharmaceutical company in multistate attorney general investigations into the lawfulness of certain patent settlement agreements.
