Michelle P. Alborzfar

Senior Associate, San Francisco

Michelle Alborzfar is a seasoned litigator representing startups to Fortune 500 companies in complex commercial disputes and government investigations.

In addition to litigating cases from start to finish, Michelle helps clients navigate regulatory compliance issues. Her diverse practice encompasses contract, business tort, product liability, intellectual property, insurance, and other matters in the consumer, technology, food, insurance, and financial industries.

Regarded for her "big picture" strategic thinking, Michelle helps clients obtain tailored solutions that are cost-effective and consistent with their business goals. Michelle has years of experience running cases and first-chairing discovery proceedings, depositions, and procedural and dispositive motion hearings. She has developed a track record of disposing of claims – and entire cases – on summary judgment.

In addition to litigating in state and federal courts, Michelle has defended government enforcement actions in multiple jurisdictions and guided clients through government investigations. With her combined litigation and regulatory experience, Michelle offers clients a comprehensive approach to problem-solving and helps them tackle liability and risk from a holistic and proactive perspective.

Michelle is passionate about pro bono and community involvement. She was part of a team that vigorously defended against discrimination based on sexual orientation in Mississippi pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. She also regularly volunteers as a judge for U.C. Hastings' nationally acclaimed moot court program. For several years, Michelle served on the board of International Veterinary Outreach, a nonprofit that provides sustainable quality veterinary care to underserved regions of the world.

Michelle clerked for the Honorable Phyllis J. Hamilton in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. Previously, she practiced commercial litigation at another global law firm.
