Michelle P. Alborzfar

Michelle Alborzfar, who focuses on complex commercial litigation, has been building a name for herself.

She's been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer Rising Star each year since 2012. She co-authored a publication that examined significant milestones in curbing the liability of businesses under California's Proposition 65. She also successfully litigated numerous dispositive motions in state and federal courts and secured favorable rulings for clients in complex discovery matters.

Michelle represents domestic and international companies in all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, with particular experience in complex commercial, products liability, insurance coverage, real estate, and contract disputes. She defeated third-party bad faith claims in federal court on behalf of an insurance company in one case; secured dismissal of California Proposition 65 claims against a food and beverage retailer in another; and obtained a favorable arbitration award on behalf of a private educational institution in a third. She litigates in state and federal courts across the country, representing clients in food and beverage, retail, insurance, commercial real estate, education, and other industries.

Michelle is a board member of International Veterinary Outreach, a nonprofit that provides sustainable quality veterinary care to underserved regions of the world. She was a co-founding board member of the California - Asia Business Council, Young Professionals. She's also involved in the U.C. Hastings College of the Law's nationally acclaimed moot court program. She competed on and coached moot court competition teams in law school, and now volunteers as an alumni judge.

Previously Michelle was a commercial litigation associate. She also clerked for the Honorable Phyllis J. Hamilton in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
