Portfolio Manager/Attorney
New York

Michele McAvoy

Michele McAvoy has considerable experience representing financial institutions in litigation. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells in 2013 as an attorney supervisor, Michele worked as an in-house litigation consultant for a national bank managing nationwide litigation pertaining to mortgage origination, servicing, and foreclosures.

In this role Michele supervised a substantial nationwide docket of litigated matters and advised the bank at all stages of litigation and foreclosure including, pleadings, emergency motions, discovery, foreclosure sales, sale rescissions, evictions, and preservation of assets.

From her in-house experience, Michele brings particular business understanding when driving decisions in litigation. As such, she has considerable experience working directly with senior management within financial institutions and varying lines of business to harmonize legal results and business initiatives to avoid risk of both financial and legal exposure that could affect the industry as a whole.

Michele joined Hogan Lovells as a supervisor in the Consumer Finance group.
