Markus Franken, LL.M. (Auckland)

Markus Franken focuses on real estate transactions, commercial and residential tenancy law and private building law. 

Markus mainly advises national and international investors and banks on real estate transactions and project development. His legal advice focuses on transactions (asset and share deals), commercial and residential tenancy law as well as private building law. 

Markus studied at the University of Trier (Germany) and at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) where he received an LL.M. certificate in commercial law. During his legal studies he worked for several international offices with a focus on real estate, tax and finance questions. Markus has been involved in numerous due diligences for real estate transactions.

Advising Susanne Klatten on the acquisition of the office tower 'Winx' in Frankfurt.

Advising Hannover Leasing on the sale of the office complex 'Die Direktion' in Münster.

Advising IVG Institutional Funds GmbH on the acquisition of 'Ericus-Contor' in Hamburg.

Advising Italian luxury retailer in management of existing and negotiation of new commercial lease agreements.

Advising a Luxembourg special fund managed by IVG on the sale of the 'Hackesches Quartier Berlin'.

Advising ICredpartner S.à r.l. & Saphir S.E.C.S. and ICredpartner S.à r.l. & Cie SECS (two funds managed by UBS) in drafting, revising and developing property purchase agreements and commercial lease agreements.

Advising the seller consortium on the sale of the Christie real estate portfolio to the joint venture of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing and Redos Real Estate by way of sale of all shares in W2005 Christie B.V. and its German subsidiaries.
