As an associate in the Tax Practice Group of Hogan Lovells' Madrid office, María focuses her practice on tax planning, both on national and international issues, corporate tax reorganizations, financing aspects of M&A, and Real Estate transactions. María also has experience on assisting private clients in their wealth tax planning.

Her experience shows an in-depth knowledge of international taxation, Spanish corporate tax, VAT and transfer taxes in different kinds of industries and projects, as well as local taxes and tax procedure through administrative and judicial channels.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, María managed to combine work and education, gaining experience in tax procedure through administrative and judicial channels.

Representative experience

Advising Cabcorp group in connection with the international tax planning of its corporate reorganization and on-going taxation matters related to their day-to-day operations.
Advising international investment funds (i.e. M&G Real Estate, Exeter Property Group) in the acquisition structure of Spanish real estate properties and the tax impact of applying the SOCIMI tax regime (Spanish REIT).
Advising other multinational groups in the taxation related to their foreign investments, and particularly in LATAM.
Advising Spanish and non-Spanish companies and individuals on their proceedings against the Spanish Tax Authorities and Spanish Courts.
Advising in the constitution and implementation of a major foundations regarding corporate and other tax issues.
