Juan Lizardi focuses his practice on commercial and financial transactions, advising clients on cross-border financings, mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate governance.

He also advises Mexican and international clients in financial regulatory matters in Mexico and helps clients in a wide range of corporate matters, whether starting their business, dealing with challenges and changes, or their day-to-day needs to carry out their business.

Juan has been involved in various fintech matters, helping clients determine whether their products are reugalted under Mexican law. 

He began his legal career in 2013 as a law clerk at Barrera Siqueiros y Torres Landa (now Hogan Lovells), giving him more than five years of experience despite having obtained his law degree in August 2017 from Universidad Panamericana.

Juan teaches the mandatory law course to 12th grade students at a prestigious local high school in Mexico City.

Advised IDB Invest on its US$25m loan to Panama-based St. Georges Bank.

Advised IFC on its US$11m blended financing to a leasing solutions company based in Haiti.

Advised IDB Invest on its US$15m loan to Financiera Desyfin, SA, the largest financial institution in Costa Rica.

Advised International Finance Corporation (IFC) on the credit facility granted to Altán Redes.

Advised one of Coca-Cola's bottlers in Mexico in the acquisition of AdeS.

Advised Standard & Poors on the issuance of ratings related to securitizations of accounts receivables.

Advises Banco Santander on the negotiation and execution of factoring agreements in Mexico.

Actively advises the pharmaceutical company Roche in their corporate governance in Mexico.
