Practice Group

Emma Lenze focuses on anticipating and mitigating potential compliance risks for international clients. She also navigates clients through complex investigations or litigation to achieve the best possible outcome in the least disruptive way. Through her extensive experience, both as a litigator in private practice and as in-house counsel, she understands the commercial realities clients face when dealing with compliance matters, investigations or litigation.

After training with Hogan Lovells, Emma worked as an associate in our London office, specialising in commercial litigation and product liability. Afterwards, she worked as a senior associate in the litigation department of a leading London law firm and as Deputy General Counsel for the world's leading international NGO for children, advising on commercial and governance issues. As part of this role, Emma advised on a wide variety of compliance issues including communications with regulators, setting up and training on the governance and compliance system for the new global organisation as well as anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and anti-terrorist legislation, including prohibited transactions. Emma re-joined Hogan Lovells in 2016.

Whilst in private practice, Emma completed two six-month client secondments. She has also worked in Mumbai training Indian lawyers as part of a litigation outsourcing project run by Hogan Lovells. In England, Emma is a solicitor-advocate with higher rights of audience in the English courts.
