Laura-Jean Van de Ven

As an associate in the Amsterdam Litigation practice, Laura-Jean van de Ven concentrates on commercial litigation and product liability, focusing on medical devices, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and hazardous substances.

Laura-Jean is an advisor to Dutch and international clients on European and international product liability, product safety issues and product recalls. She regularly appears before Dutch civil courts in the context of commercial disputes (enforcement and termination of contracts, etc.). The Product Liability Litigation practice of the Amsterdam office is involved in various complex and cross-border product liability cases in which the department also cooperates closely with colleagues from the other Hogan Lovells offices. Laura-Jean has lived and studied in Groningen and Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and Montreal (Canada).

Representative Experience

Acting for a medical device manufacturer in claims alleging injuries caused by hip prostheses;

Acting for a manufacturer of science-based products for aesthetics markets relating to alleged health damages caused by a breast implant;

Assisting market-leading brands in a range of industries to deal with individual product liability claims in the Netherlands;

Levying attachments for various companies to secure claims filed either in the Netherlands or abroad.
