Charmaine Kwong

Charmaine first joined Hogan Lovells in 2015 as a trainee solicitor and is now an associate in our Hong Kong IPMT team.

During her trainee rotations, Charmaine sat in our Arbitration and Employment teams in Hong Kong.  She last sat with Corporate assisting the TMT team on matters including advisory work on commercial agreements and data privacy and protection. She was also seconded to our Singapore office and focused on aviation finance matters.

Charmaine graduated with a first class Honours law degree and was the President of the Undergraduate Law Society at university. She was awarded numerous scholarships, including the HKSAR Government Scholarship, the Lee Quo Wei CUHK Golden Jubilee Scholarship and our very own Hogan Lovells LLB Prize.

Representative experience

Assisting the renowned hardware and software digital security manufacturer Nagravision S.A. in pursuing copyright infringement claims against Hong Kong and PRC companies.

Representing clients on company name hijacking matters.

Advising clients on issues of personal data privacy and protection.

Advising a Korean company in the setting up of data centres in Hong Kong.

Advising a global toys company in a trade mark dispute in Hong Kong over its household character name

Advising a cinema chain in handling customer complaints and false advertising issues.

Advising a leading lingerie maker in enforcing its intellectual property rights cross-border against infringers in Mainland China

Advising on brand protection and enforcement of IP rights in Hong Kong and around the region.

Advising an Indian solar technology company in a US$285 million arbitration regarding the sale and purchase of solar wafers (HKIAC, Hong Kong).
