Jyoti Kuvelker advises the sponsors of, and investors in, a wide range of private investment funds, including private equity, mezzanine, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, and small business investment companies (SBICs).

Jyoti counsels private investment fund sponsors on the formation, fundraising, management, regulatory compliance, tax, and structuring of their various investment vehicles, including in their investment structuring, acquisition and divestiture of portfolio companies, and co-investments. She also counsels investors in the negotiation and management of their fund investments.

She works on domestic and international transactions, including with parties in Latin America, Canada, India, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. She adapts quickly to the needs of a deal, having worked on transactions in the retail, technology, food and beverage, energy and health care industries. Jyoti brings broad corporate experience advising public and private companies on securities offerings and compliance, venture capital investments, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to law school, she was a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting LLP, where she advised the executive teams of retail clients. She continues to apply her experience in innovation and on multidisciplinary teams to her legal practice.

Jyoti is passionate about public service, having worked with federal and state government agencies in business and legal capacities. She is active in the firm's pro bono initiatives, particularly in impact investing. Jyoti is also a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Washington, D.C.

Jyoti was formerly a business and finance associate in the Philadelphia office of another global law firm. She was also a contributing editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review while in law school.
