Jyoti Kuvelker adapts quickly to the needs of a deal, having worked on corporate transactions in the energy, retail, technology, food and beverage, and healthcare industries.
She advises the sponsors of, and investors in, a wide range of private investment funds, including private equity, mezzanine, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, and small business investment companies (SBICs). Her practice centers on a variety of transactions, including fund formation, fund maintenance, investments, mergers and acquisitions, co-investments, special purpose vehicles, and strategic alliances.
Jyoti works on domestic and international transactions, including in Canada, India, Nigeria, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. She has broad corporate experience advising public and private companies on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, credit facilities, venture capital investments, and corporate governance. Prior to law school, she was a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting LLP, where she advised the executive teams of retail clients. She continues to apply her experience in innovation, quality improvement, and on multidisciplinary teams to her legal practice. Jyoti strives for collaboration, clear communication, excellence, and efficiency when advising clients.
Jyoti is passionate about public service, having worked with federal and state government agencies in business and legal capacities. She is dedicated to pro bono work, and is particularly interested in impact investing. She was an attorney supervisor and a student attorney for the University of Michigan Law School International Transactions Clinic. Jyoti is a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Washington, D.C.
Jyoti was formerly a business and finance associate in the Philadelphia office of another global law firm. She was a Contributing Editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review while in law school.
