Rachael is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution group of our Hong Kong office. 

Rachael acts for international and local clients in commercial and construction-related disputes, with experience in litigation and arbitration. 

Rachael’s industry experience spans various sectors, including financial services, construction and engineering, and technology.

Rachael is actively engaged in pro bono work, and is also a committee member of HL Inclusion in Hong Kong. 

Rachael is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Representative experience

Acting for a sub-contractor against a sub-sub-contractor in an arbitration in relation to the reclamation works for the Three Runway System Project in Hong Kong.

Advising a Hong Kong statutory body in opposing a judicial review application challenging a decision to refuse HKDSE applications made by an education centre on behalf of private candidates. 

Acting for a Taiwan-listed company in a cement industry litigation in Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands. 

Acting for a sub-contractor against a main contractor in Court proceedings arising from unforeseen ground conditions in a government project for the development of special needs school.

Acting for a statutory body in an arbitration defending against its main contractor's claims for delay and variation works under a main contract for infrastructure works. 

Acting for a local leading E&M contractor against a joint venture on claims for fluctuation in a project for an effluent polishing plant adopting NEC4 Option C. 

Acting for the joint and several liquidators of China Metal Recycling (Holdings) Limited (In Compulsory Liquidation).

Acting for an American bank in the recovery of monies through spoofing-type fraud. 

Acting for a corporate trustee in commencing an action against a Hong Kong listed company for breaches and anticipatory breaches of an indenture pursuant to which US$197 million bonds were issued.

Advising a listed company in relation to potential regulatory breaches. 

Acting for a contractor in winding-up proceedings against a property management company for failure to satisfy a judgment debt pursuant to an arbitral award.  

Advising a company in a claim against a former director for potential breach of fiduciary duty and diversion of business.
