Vehicle Cybersecurity and Privacy Legislation Introduced
On July 21, 2015, Sens. Edward Markey (D-MA) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced legislation directing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Trade Commission to promulgate federal regulations setting minimum cybersecurity and privacy standards for all motor vehicles manufactured for sale in the United States.
