Dr. Kjell Jacobsen advises national and international clients on M&A transactions as well as on all questions relating to corporate law. Another major area of his activity is the advice of family-run businesses and the restructuring of companies.

Kjell is a graduated wholesale and foreign sale merchant. He studied law at the University of Freiburg and the Humboldt University of Berlin. Following his law studies, Kjell worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Commercial Law chaired by Professor Michael Adams at the University of Hamburg and received his PhD in the field of law and economics. During his doctoral studies concerning the duty of risk management under the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG), he also conducted in-depth research for several months as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall). He served his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg. Before joining Hogan Lovells, Kjell worked for another major international law firm.
