Katie Ali puts her legal skills to good use. As the firm's senior associate-in-charge of U.S. pro bono, she litigates civil rights cases that have received national recognition, including several capital punishment cases in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
In her general practice, Katie advises clients on complex civil litigation matters at the trial and appellate level, with a particular focus on class actions. She has substantial experience at all stages of class action litigation, including motions to dismiss, motions to certify a class, motions for summary judgment, expert witness prep, class action settlements, and appeals.
She has represented Fortune 500 clients across major industries, including construction, energy, transportation, and health insurance. She has comprehensive knowledge of products liability, mass torts, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), contract disputes, and trademark and copyright claims.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Kathryn served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Doumar of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
