Katie Nelson focuses her practice on complex intellectual property and commercial litigation. Her background in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, as well as technology-oriented consumer, data privacy, and products liability litigation, serves her clients well.
Katie worked during law school as a judicial intern for the Honorable Christine Arguello, U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Colorado. In this role, she drafted orders and bench memoranda. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Richard Gabriel of the Colorado Court of Appeals, where she drafted predisposition memoranda.
While in law school, Katie was managing editor of the University of Colorado Law Review. She also served as a student lawyer in the entrepreneurial law clinic at the University of Colorado, where she assisted Colorado entrepreneurs with entity formation and intellectual property planning. In addition, Katie helped launch a transactional pro bono initiative to help indigent Colorado clients. She joined Hogan Lovells as a summer associate in 2011.
