As an experienced senior associate in our International Debt Capital Markets practice, Jonathan advises primarily on public and private bond offerings by banks, corporations, multilateral organisations and sovereigns. His sector knowledge and skills include financial institutions, supranationals and the automotive sector, and he has particular experience in advising on market debuts.
An enthusiastic advocate of closer engagement with emerging markets globally, he has advised over the last decade on a range of innovative and award-winning transactions spanning Africa, Latin America, Russia and Asia. His emerging markets experience includes three years in our Moscow office as a key member of our Russian capital markets practice. Now London-based, he continues to collaborate closely with colleagues across our global network, including in the Americas, and is a member of our wider African and Latin America Practice Groups.
In addition to his work for emerging market clients such as the African Export-Import Bank, Jonathan is also well-versed in acting closer to home for major European and UK domestic clients. He also works extensively with our leading U.S. securities practice on international high yield bond offerings and other transactions involving offers into the United States. Jonathan's wider capital markets experience includes liability management and bond restructurings, structured finance, derivatives, asset finance and acquisition finance. His clients include issuers, originators, underwriters, and other capital markets participants such as trustees, receivers and swap counterparties. He has spent time in-house at a leading international bank and also previously worked in the London office of a major U.S. law firm. Jonathan is listed as a recommended lawyer for Russian capital markets by Chambers Global 2010.
