John gives litigation and risk management advice to global companies and trade associations in a range of industries including life sciences, oil and gas, telecommunications, food and beverages, consumer goods and transport. He has also worked with clients to co-ordinate the defence of cross-border product liability claims in over 35 jurisdictions, including claims in the U.S., Canada, Australia and various countries in Europe.
John regularly advises clients on product safety risk management issues such as compliance systems, media handling, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, product recalls, crisis management and liaison with EU and national authorities.
John was appointed by the European Commission to lead the team that carried out a major study on the Product Liability Directive and its possible reform and was a founding member of the Working Group established by the Commission to monitor and review product liability developments.
