John has been practising transactional real estate law at Hogan Lovells since 1997.

John has acted for a number of clients, whether investors, developers or occupiers, for many years. He trained at the firm and was made a partner in 2009.

He deals with all types of real estate transactions for all types of clients. This includes institutional investment, landlord and tenant, sales, purchases and portfolio management, and property development. More recently he has done a number of residential and student accommodation transactions and is part of our residential task force.

John has particular knowledge of outsourcing and leasehold liability deals and also advises on indirect property investments.

His mathematical and science background means that he is just as comfortable with the financial aspects of a deal as the legal aspects.

He is listed as a "Leading Individual" in Chambers 2019.

He was a founder member of the Commercial Real Estate Legal Association and is a member of the Investment Property Forum regulation and legislation group.
