James "Tony" FitzPatrick has dedicated his legal career to supporting clients in the insurance industry.

For more than 40 years, Tony has focused on corporate and regulatory matters involving insurers, reinsurers, brokers, agents, investors, and financial advisors, large and small, domestic and foreign. Concentration on the insurance sector over so many years lets Tony bring considerable experience and practical insight to his engagements with clients on a day-to-day basis.

Tony's practice involves the representation of public and private companies and their boards of directors in transactional matters, such as the formation of new business ventures, private and public capital raising, purchase and sale of assets, reinsurance transactions, public and private mergers and acquisitions, and reorganizations and restructuring, as well as general corporate, insurance regulatory, and corporate governance matters.

Before joining Hogan Lovells in 2012, Tony was a partner in the insurance group of another leading global firm, where he practiced in New York and in London.
