Jakob Theurer advises German and international clients on product liability, product safety, and product compliance issues, with a particular focus on criminal and administrative offence implications. His industry focus is in the automotive, chemical, consumer goods, electronics, energy, and food industries.

Jakob assesses legal risks for companies when launching innovative products with a particular focus on the implementation and execution of preventive compliance measures. Furthermore, he advises companies on criminal and administrative offence proceedings, particularly on cases where crimes were committed within or outside the company.

In addition, Jakob's practice includes advising companies on product liability and product safety issues. He has experience in the coordination of global product safety and corrective actions, including worldwide notification of product safety authorities. Jakob also helps identify product liability risks and represents companies in the defense against in and out-of-court product liability claims.

During his legal clerkship, Jakob worked for a leading criminal law firm and the United Nations in Geneva. During his LL.M. studies as a research assistant at the Columbia Law School in New York City, Jakob researched international criminal law.

Advising a chemical company on regulatory and criminal law issues, including the classification and labeling of products.

Advising a leading DAX company on a global internal product compliance investigation including criminal investigations.
