Joseph's practice focusses on financial services and commercial disputes, investigations and contentious regulatory matters. He regularly acts for major domestic and international banks, multilaterals, funds and financial institutions. His work frequently involves cross-border issues.

As an associate in Hogan Lovells' Financial Services Disputes team in London, Joseph has a broad range of experience, encompassing High Court litigation, arbitration, contentious regulatory investigations and associated follow-on litigation. Joseph has also spent time on secondment in the legal department of a leading international bank.


Representative experience

Defending a major bank in multiple sets of High Court proceedings involving interest rate hedging products.

Acting for BTA Bank in its multi-billion dollar fraud claim against the bank's former chairman, Mukhtar Ablyazov, and associated claims.

Acting for a major international bank in a substantial cross border regulatory investigation involving regulators and prosecutors in a variety of jurisdictions.
