Leyla Hadi's unique background provides her with a springboard to bring and understand different perspectives. She takes the time to evaluate all angles of a challenge and carefully consider all possibilities. Those attributes benefit her clients as she tackles their most pressing employment issues.
Leyla appreciates the variety of clients that she can help in her practice, as employment issues exist in every industry. She has worked for clients ranging from beauty product manufacturers, to entertainment arenas, to tech companies. Working in labor and employment also grants her exposure to litigation, investigation, and transactional work. Her team handles lawsuits but are also key members of deals, helping companies navigate employment transitions and other issues that arise in M&A and other transactional work. She also values the human element of employment cases, as the effects of her work make a direct, tangible impact on human relations.
Leyla grew up in Karachi, Pakistan and has lived in New York state for the past nine years. Those experiences taught her how to adapt to different circumstances and find common ground with people from all backgrounds. She handles issues and points of dispute efficiently to thoroughly create bridges between people who don't see eye to eye.
Leyla is also passionate about pro bono work, particularly concerning political asylum and refugee matters. As a summer associate at Hogan Lovells in 2014, she aided in successfully getting asylum for an LGBT client from Belarus and continued to help after finishing the summer. She is now working on a refugee case for an Iraqi family and another asylum case for an LGBT/HIV positive client from Jamaica.
