The city has a rich history of advocacy, and our lawyers here are recognized for theirs. As one of the largest groups of trial lawyers in the Northeast, we represent clients who need legal advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom. We represent individuals and commercial entities in complex business and civil litigation and professional licensing and discipline matters, and defend them against allegations of white collar criminal conduct.

Our pro bono work
We successfully handled a matter in the U.S. District Court involving a wounded Army veteran who was improperly denied a medical retirement. To help him correct his discharge status, we were involved in a suit against the Army and National Guard, prevailing on his behalf.
We worked for many years as pro bono counsel in connection with a death penalty case in Connecticut. After lengthy advocacy for an appeal, the state of Connecticut abolished the death penalty.
We’re very active with the Women's Bar Foundation and the Boston Bar Foundation. We have a rich history of leadership, committee participation, volunteer work, and financial support of these well-respected foundations.
Our community outreach
The race is held each spring by the American Heart Association, and we’ve sponsored it every year since its inception and have donated over US$100,000 to the organization in support of the race.
Through the Discovering Justice mock trial program, our lawyers spend 11 weeks working with middle school students after school. We help students tackle age-appropriate legal issues, engage in legal analysis, and prepare them to argue cases at the Moakley Federal Courthouse before judges and juries made up of volunteer community members.
We sponsor YouthConnect, an advocacy and intervention program of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston that helps the most high-risk youth make positive life choices though relationships with social workers. Our sponsorship helps to place social workers in police stations throughout the city, allowing them to help intervene with children in the moments that they are most at risk of making negative life choices.
