Discover the dynamic of both worlds

A common mindset

My team spans many offices, including Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Northern Virginia. While we may not always share the same street address, we share the same mindset and deep commitment to client service and excellence in our work. There’s a top-down culture of deep respect, hard work, and learning by doing. How people work and interact with one another on a daily basis is very telling. The level of professionalism extended by lawyers to staff, the demeanor of partners toward associates, and associate camaraderie – these things demonstrate that Hogan Lovells lives its values.

Hogan Lovells is 2,800 lawyers strong, and we have a global reach. But each office has managed to retain its own personality and culture. Most days, I feel like I work at a smaller firm where everyone in my office at least knows my name. At the same time, I have the resources and depth of a much larger practice at my disposal. That balance of being a global powerhouse with local culture and roots is what sets Hogan Lovells apart.

Consistently high quality

Clients are sophisticated and they want counsel with deep expertise in all areas of their operations. We strive to provide clients with an “under one roof” service across the practice that is consistent and high quality. It’s the hallmark to our winning new engagements and broadening our existing relationships.

The firm provides lawyers and staff both formal and informal opportunities for professional training, team building, and support. On any given day, we could be hosting a project to put together food packs for homeless families, a training workshop targeting recent changes in law, or a casual happy hour or client reception.

Professional expertise

I joined Hogan Lovells as a lateral associate with a team of other corporate lawyers from another firm. I knew the firm by reputation, and I expected to be working in one of the best Corporate practices in the area. My experiences here over the past decade, first as an associate and now as a partner, have exceeded my expectations. We have a sophisticated global Corporate practice with real depth of knowledge in our industry sectors.

As a Corporate transactional partner with a growing practice, my responsibilities continue to expand and evolve. No two days are the same, which is what I love most about my job. I’m the principal point of contact for a number of key clients and working with lawyers across a group of disciplines is a given. Many of our clients are in highly regulated industries subject to complex and evolving government regulations, so I interact with my government regulatory colleagues on a regular basis.
