Be part of a dynamic global practice

Consistently high-quality

When I joined the firm, my expectations centered on joining a top-notch practice that could service clients with a wide range of legal needs. The 2010 combination of Hogan & Hartson and Lovells has given us an international depth that has exceeded my expectations.

Before joining the firm in 2009, I served as Chief Litigation Counsel for Sun Microsystems, Inc., a Fortune 200 global technology company. During that time, I worked with many top law firms, including Hogan & Hartson. Their client service and focus on results really stood out from the competitors. Therefore, when I decided to go back into private practice, the firm was top of my list.

Professional expertise

My practice focuses on complex intellectual property and business litigation. Many of my cases cut across international boundaries, which requires a lot of flexibility when it comes to scheduling. It’s not uncommon for me to have a 5:00 a.m. call with lawyers in our London or Paris office, and even calls or emails with lawyers in our Hong Kong office. That is not typical for most of my friends at other firms.

High-quality opportunities

I’m the relationship manager for two of the world’s most successful and creative technology companies. It’s been a great experience serving such talented and innovative clients. The depth and scope of our non-U.S. work has given me opportunities to work on international intellectual property litigation matters unmatched by other firms.

Our culture is a paradox, in that it is performance-driven but we do not tolerate “prima donna” behavior. People like and respect each other, and we try very hard to foster a team-oriented environment. Focus on your unique attributes. Think about how you can contribute to a team focused on solving client problems and delivering great results.
