Business Development Coordinator (Contract)

We are currently recruiting for Business Development Coordinator to join our Marketing & Business Development team in Singapore. This is a maternity leave for a fixed term contract period of 6 months. Applicants should have approximately 1 – 3 years of experience in business development and marketing, preferably in a professional services environment.

The role offers the opportunity for involvement in all aspects of business development in a professional services environment, with a particular focus on drafting proposals, capturing experience, and creating collateral materials. This role will involve coordinating across a number of practice groups and give the candidate a wide range of experience across the gull services of the firm.

Scope of the work 

Reporting directly to the Business Development Adviser and overseen by Singapore Senior Business Development Manager , the successful candidate will work with lawyers and all layers of support staff including managers and secretaries to assist with all aspects of the business development and marketing function, including:

  • Business Proposals: Work closely with BD Adviser and Partners to manage all aspects of the proposal process including drafting credentials statements, proposals and presentations in English.
  • Experience Capture: Work with the lawyers and other M&BD team members to draft work experience and add it to the firm's Experience Database.
  • Directory Submissions: Draft legal directory submissions, awards submissions and survey responses and coordinating with lawyers to submit references and schedule interviews.
  • Collateral Management: Updating and maintaining a full suite of marketing collateral, including office and practice profiles, lawyers' profiles, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Business Development Planning: Support the BD Adviser and practice area Partners with business development planning, client and prospect targeting, client and sector research, lead generation and pursuits.
  • Client Development: Assisting the BD team in running the regional client development programme, including managing one or two clients with partners.
  • Event Management: Working with the BD Adviser to coordinate a broad range of events including panel and speaking engagements, seminars and conferences, social events and receptions.

  • Information Maintenance: Ensuring that key information systems such as the credentials database, experience database, CV database and InterAction are kept up-to-date.
  • Website Maintenance: Coordinating regular updates of web pages for the Singapore office.
  • External Communications: Working with the media relations team to coordinate public relations opportunities, including article placement and coordinating media interviews.
  • Ad hoc projects: Assisting with ad hoc projects as mandated by the Business Development Advisor and lawyers.


Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in business administration, marketing or law.
  • A minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience in business development and marketing, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Time management – needs to effectively manage own time to complete assigned tasks.
  • Excellent personal communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent command of English. Able to read and write in business English including writing persuasive language and communicating complex thoughts in a simple but comprehensive manner.
  • High attention to detail, including exceptional proofreading skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Consistent positive attitude with a "can do" mentality.
  • Flexible approach in order to handle fluctuating work volumes and priorities.
  • Proven discretion and trust in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and ability to learn new IT skills such as digital marketing systems, InterAction and other database systems.
