Simon Grimshaw

I joined Hogan Lovells in November 2014, as part of the founding cohort of the Birmingham Office.

In May 2017, I was promoted to the role of Senior Associate and, alongside my day job as a lawyer in our Corporate team, I am also Acting Team Leader of the Corporate team in Birmingham. For me, being a member of the Corporate team in Birmingham has meant that I have access to top notch work, but at the same time continue to work in the city where I have my family ties. I regularly lead transactions, working alongside colleagues in our London office as well as further afield if the matters I am working on have cross-border elements.

Picking the right firm, in the right location, was a daunting task when I applied for my training contract. In my experience, it is only when you actually get to spend time at a firm, that you really have the opportunity to understand its culture.  I have always found Hogan Lovells to be an open, collaborative and supportive environment to work in. We are expected to work hard, but that hard work is recognised and appreciated. We are currently a relatively small office so we have the opportunities and quality of work and clients of a global law firm, within a close-knit office environment.
